In line with the WSJ report of the once top selling smartphone maker Blackberry the company is planning to cut 4,500 jobs in the next year, and suffer a loss close to $1 billion in the fiscal Q2 of 2014.

One of the major causes of the loss is the lack of customer increase in Blackberry’s Z10 device that has result in the company taking inventory and supply commitments.

So Blackberry is planning to sell the device to an “entry level” audience and sell the new Z30 to the high end.
Blackberry is also cutting its device portfolio to 4 devices two for the entry-level market and two for the high-end.
