Last week CEO Steve Ballmer announced his retirement from the company after 13 years, but the company isn’t slowing down cause of that Windows 8.1 the next update has been sent to RTM just yesterday.
Consumers won’t receive the update as every company likes to add its own small tweaks to the OS, but on the October 18 it should reach all consumers. Windows 8.1 is a new strategy that Microsoft is using to get updates out faster and more noticeable than its previous way of Service Pack updates that took years to come out.
The update will bring back the Start button(don’t get it confused with the Start menu) also up to three
Metro apps sharing the screen, better search, new lockscreen, Skype integration, offline SkyDrive access and so forth.
