I’d like to start this post by thanking Samsung once again for introducing this category to the world of mobile devices the ‘phablets’, but really is the Sony Xperia Z Ultra to big for the shoes of a phablet or is it simply the right size?
Today Sony announced its larger than life Xpera Z Ultra which has a 6.4″ inch 1080p display coupled with water and dust resistance trademark that the Xperia Z line of phones carry now and its styling as well. The device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with an adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. On the back you’ll get a 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with face detection; Full HD (1080p) video recording
at 30fps with HDR, 2MP front-facing camera with FullHD video capture.
Connectivity the Ultra gets it all Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, standard microUSB port with MHL and USB host, GPS receiver with A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC. The device comes with 16GB of storage expandable via a Micro SD slot.
This device is extremely slim at 6.4mm its slimmer than an iPhone 5, but is also twice as heavy. I’d recommend this phone for those who don’t really know what to get in life and if you think this phone is larger than life just wait on Samsung with the Galaxy Note 3 .
