Samsung showed working prototypes with it’s YOUM brand of flexible displays at the CES Expo this year, but besides a dreamy concept video there haven’t been much news on its alleged tablet with bendable AMOLED panel so far.
This just changed as a flexible 10″ tablet render has leaked, and some specs are thrown in for a good measure. The bendy panel is supposed to sport Full HD 1920×1080 pixels resolution, lit up by a 1.6 GHz Exynos 5 Octa processor, paired with 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of storage, and microSD card slot for more. A 3 MP front camera plus a beefy 8000 mAh battery are supposed to round up the flexible Samsung tablet.
Of note is the lack of a rear camera, as the top part of the slate is seemingly thinner than the bottom, which can bend, thus serving as both a stand, and maybe a keyboard half when the need arises, though the space seems too tight to fit a decent QWERTY.
The render looks like the patent sketches below that Samsung filed not long ago, so it might be partially based on them, but mum’s the word on when or whether are we going to see it in reality.
