Those Samsung fanatics at SamMobile are at it
again with a new rumor about the possible
announcement date of the Galaxy S IV. According
to it, the much-anticipated handset will get
unveiled on March 15, and will be released in
early April. The source claims that March 15 is
when Samsung’s next unpacked event is going to
take place. This actually contradicts the previous
rumor we heard about the Galaxy S IV
announcement date, which claimed that
Samsung is to introduce it on March 22. Of
course, we wouldn’t mind it at all if the new
rumor turns out to be correct.
The Galaxy S IV is then expected to hit most
European markets by the end of April, while the
Americas, Australia and Africa are said to get it
sometime in May or June – a two month delay
similar to what we’ve observed with previous
Galaxy S launches.
As most of our readers surely know, the GS IV is
expected to be one of the hottest Android phones
of the year, due to the great popularity of the
series. Unofficial sources claim that the new
model will step things up with a larger, 5″ 1080p
display, the recently-announced Exynos 5 Octa
SoC, 2GB RAM and a 13MP camera. All of this will
surely be powered by the latest version of
Android, which is 4.2 Jelly Bean. Of course, don’t
forget about Samsung’s own TouchWiz user
interface, which will probably also get an overhaul
of its own. The first versions of this UI were pretty
poor in terms of design and responsiveness, but
Samsung made a big step forward with its latest
iteration last year – the Nature UX, so we’re
looking forward to seeing what new stuff the
manufacturer has come up with for 2013.
