Quad-core processors haven’t been around for long we thought a good 2years would go by with them as the benchmark, but it looks like Samsung isn’t waiting on anything its already trying to produce an 8-core processor ARM chip which will be announced on 19th Feb 2012.

This takes the Tegra 3 technology into another evolution, Samsung’s 8-core chip is planned to be a quad-core 1.8GHz ARM Cortex-A15 for the high-level processing, along with a quad 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 for low-level operations.

The Cortex-A7 will be manufactured with a 28nm process and will be 5times faster and more efficient then the Cortex A8 our current generation.
